Cancer is the leading cause of death in Taiwan, and breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. However, even if diagnosed with cancer, there is no need to panic. With proper and systematic treatment, the five-year survival rate for early-stage breast cancer in Taiwan is over 90%, and more than half of the patients undergo radiotherapy. Advances in radiotherapy technology have greatly improved its side effects and discomfort associated with radiation treatment. It is important to remind patients that if diagnosed with cancer, they should always seek professional cancer care at accredited medical institutions.
