The prevalence of periodontal disease in Taiwan is considerably high. In the early stage of periodontal disease , patients usually aren't aware of the deteriorating periodontal condition until symptoms of tooth mobility and gingival discomfort which includes pain, abscess and swelling present, indicating condition of advanced periodontal disease. By that time, periodotal treatment could be complicated and time consuming. Thus, routine examination and early treatment can help maintain periodontal health and enhance quality of life.
