Abnormal menstruation refers to uterine bleeding in a nonpregnant female that is abnormal in volume, frequency, duration, and regularity. This may be a warning sign of diseases of gynecologic or other organ systems. Women are suggested to keep a record of when they are menstruating and document other information related to their cycle.
