Abnormal menstruation refers to uterine bleeding in a nonpregnant female that is abnormal in volume, frequency, duration, and regularity. This may be a warning sign of diseases of gynecologic or other organ systems. Women are suggested to keep a record of when they are menstruating and document other information related to their cycle. Tracking your menstrual cycle is the only way to find out if there are any problems need to be addressed. Please seek the advice of your gynecologist when any menstrual problem that bothers you.
