* Reminder from Dr. Lin:

Hearing impairment is common, however, the impact is often neglected. The prevalence of hearing impairment is increased with age, and it is the most common sensory deficit in the elderly. Hearing impairment may bring significant impacts in daily life, such as difficulties in communication, problems at work, and even emotional issues, such as frustration and isolation. There are many etiologies of hearing impairment. In some cases, hearing impairment could be improved by medicine or surgery. Hearing aids may also be helpful in some cases. I suggest patients with hearing impairment to consult their doctors for diagnosis and seek for appropriate treatments.
